IPACT also has the
ability to simulate or model a production facility
for the purposes of optimizing production or making
decisions about equipment additions or changes.
In a
production simulation, IPACT represents
the customer’s facility in code and links that to a graphical
display format that depicts the material flow in
either real time or at a much higher speed, enabling
a day’s worth of production to accumulate in a
matter of minutes. Customers can use the simulation
results to make process changes and see the impact
of these changes within minutes. Such an approach
eliminates costly field equipment modifications and
results in a superior design and/or optimized
operation.
In production modeling,
a mathematical representation of how the facility
operates is derived, and then this model is used to
generate virtually instantaneous results over
various materials and operating conditions. Links
to graphical displays are normally included. The
ability to change certain parts of the process is
typically built into these models, allowing rapid
generation of production capabilities over many
“what if” scenarios.
We have completed
numerous projects in this area that have assisted
our customers in solving difficult production
problems, and resulted in large savings.
