GE FANUC 5565 PCI Reflective Memory Device Driver for OpenVMS

The IPACT GE FANUC 5565-PCI device driver for OpenVMS allows an OpenVMS node to participate on the GE FANUC high speed reflective memory ring.    The software device driver is available for OpenVMS release 7.3 on Hewlett Packard Alpha servers and OpenVMS 8.2  or later on Integrity Servers.

The product comes with a device driver that allows memory access to the PCI mapped memory of the 5565-PCI using both DMA (Direct Memory Access) and buffered I/O.    The device driver ensures controlled access and atomic updates by the OpenVMS host application processes.  The device driver also supports eight optional writeable partitions to be set up (by default the complete memory space of the card is available for write by the host processes) to ensure no errant writes to memory locations not intended for the host are written.

IPACT is also providing a system service that can be can be used to map the tag variables to memory locations of the reflective memory.   Host Processes can then reference the memory locations using the symbolic tags names instead of absolute memory locations.  The configuration is via a simple CSV (Comma Separated Value) file.  DCL utilities exist to allow the reading and writing of these variables for simulation and testing purposes.

Licensing is per node.  Installation is via OpenVMS Install kit.  Contact IPACT directly for pricing.
