Batching Control Systems for Candy Making

IPACT used a commercially available batching software package, based on the ISA S88 Batch Control standard, to control batching processes for two areas of the same candy plant.  The first was a chocolate liquor production process, and the second was a bar making process.  These systems involved developing a model of the process, implementing the required phased control logic in a PLC, and knitting the new logic into the existing PLC controls.  Custom extensions to the batching software package were required and added by IPACT in the bar making process.
