Dry Ingredient Handling System

IPACT has provided a Level 1 system to a cookie manufacturer that controls dry ingredient handling for an entire cookie plant. The system distributes various types of flour and sugar to numerous mixing and chocolate making stations.  Each mixer has a simple human-machine interface which displays the state of the flour and sugar availability to that mixer, and allows the operator to request ingredients and control ingredient flow to his mixer.  A centrally located HMI supports maintenance activities.  The system also automatically controls silo filling and drying. The system has significantly reduced downtime and incidents of sending the wrong ingredients to a mixer, thereby reducing waste.
