Robotics Laboratory LIMS System

Upgraded a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) in a totally automatic Robotics Lab associated with a BOF/LMF/Caster complex.  The LIMS system was a VAX/VMS-based implementation of Fison's CAST-LIMS software, which IPACT extended and customized to meet the customers needs more fully.  The LIM systems utilized DEC RDB database, with a 4GL database interface language and Fortran extensions. Activities included developing automatic sample disposition analysis, voice annunciation of sample analysis alarms, generation of published chemistry records, and broadcasting chemistries to complex coordination computer systems.
