CAMTRON Coating Weight Gauge HMI Replacement

Many of the coating weight systems in use today consist of DMC gauges interfaced to CAMTRON systems to provide setup, operator interface, and data collection.  These CAMTRON systems consist of proprietary hardware and software, and IPACT has developed a replacement system for them based on standard/open hardware and software. 

This system utilizes an Intel-based Windows 2000 PC and is programmed using Visual Studio .NET.  It provides the following functionality:

• Interfaces to the higher level area computers, receiving setup information from them, and sending back coating weight summaries per coil.

• Interfaces to the DMC gauge, sending setups down and receiving coating weight scan information in return.

• Stores seven (7) days of coating weight data locally, as well as sending that data to a remote SQL or Oracle database for permanent storage.

• Provides a graphic interface for the operator.  This includes the ability to "play back" a coil on the screen, either for locally stored coils or coils stored in the remote database.

• The system includes a graphical client tool that can be loaded on any modern Windows platform that enables the user to access the database data, playback coils, etc.
