Coil Inspection Line

Designed and implemented a Level II system for the complete automation of an inspection line.  The system collects measurements from a PLC and produces a position/measurement/defect map for each coil.  Various alarms alert the inspectors to out-of-tolerance conditions.  This data is displayable and editable from HMI's and available on numerous reports.  The system also supports coil build-ups (one output coil for several input coils) and child coils (several output coils for one input coil).  Coil history files are maintained on Level II, and also sent to a Level IV business computer for permanent archival storage.
