Plate Mill Turnover Arms

A control system to replace existing constant potential motor controls and stick resisters with four (4) velocity referenced, 125hp, Allen-Bradley 1395 DC Drives was designed and commissioned by IPACT. Drive sequencing and turnover arm positioning was accomplished using a PLC with high speed counter I/O and resolver feedback. PLC/Drive communications was achieved via the PLC's remote I/O link.

Cooling Bed Walking Beam Transfer Table

An IPACT engineer developed a control system to replace an existing cooling, bed-chain driven transfer table with a hydraulic unloader and walking beam transfer table. The new roll line unloader and transfer table controls consisted of twelve (12) hydraulic axes controlled by Allen-Bradley closed-loop position referencing (1771-QB) modules. Scope of supply included a ten vertical MCC, local and remote PLC I/O Enclosures with operator and maintenance MMI systems.
