HMI SCADA System for Stockhouse, Charging, Stoves and Refractory Monitoring

Two modern HMI/SCADA systems were designed and installed on two, large-belt charged, blast furnaces by IPACT as replacements for old IDT HMIs.  The systems featured redundant servers and had a total of eight (8) nodes.  One of the systems supported all stockhouse operations, conveyors, and furnace top operations.  Another system supported the monitoring and control of all stoves and the monitoring and alarming of all refractory temperatures, as well as wind temperature and pressure for both furnaces.  Two simulators were developed by IPACT in order to thoroughly test these systems before their installation in the field.
