Wastewater Thickener Application

An HMI/SCADA system to monitor the waste water treatment for a large aluminum plant was designed and installed by IPACT.  The system consists of one FIX (Intellution) SCADA node and three (3) view nodes, communicating with one (1) GE Series Six PLC and one (1) Siemens PLC.  The SCADA node send data to a relational database that archives the data for the past year and provides daily, monthly, and yearly reports.

The system contains approximately fifteen (15) process screens animating waste water operations in various areas of the plant.  By clicking any displayed point, the operator can call up a one-day trend of that value.  The system tracks minimums, maximums, totals, and averages for most of the flows, temperatures, and pressures it displays, and archives them in the relational database.  Once a day printed reports are automatically produced showing these values over each hour and the day as a whole.  Similarly, monthly and yearly printed reports are also produced.  The operators also have the option of producing any report on demand.
