Hot Strip Roughing Mill Model Enhancement

IPACT was chosen by a major North American metals producer to provide the Level 2 automation and associated HMIs for a major automation upgrade at its hot strip mill.  As part of this effort, the customer wanted the model for the reversing rougher to be enhanced and some long-standing problems corrected without completely re-writing the entire model, which had been supplied by a major mill supplier years prior. 

Modifying and debugging old and poorly documented code was a demanding challenge, but IPACT was up to the task.  Not only were the problems identified by the customer found and resolved, but several other undocumented faults were also discovered and remedied.  All requested enhancements were successfully integrated, and the entire model was modularized and documented, thus facilitating future maintenance.
